Air Diego Lion Rampant at Teetonic

13 days of voting to go on Scotland's own version of Threadless.  Except on this site I haven't seen any new shirts selected for print since I've joined.  With it being based in Scotland everyone that posts and votes seems to be pretty dour too.  Perhaps a bit of quality control regarding submissions would brighten everyone's mood.  There are some right stinkers on there.

Still, I'll perservere because it would be a shame to see a local competition site fold due to lack of interest.

Apologies for the lack of activity again, pre-baby DIY has been getting in the way.  Something tells me I'll have plenty of sleepless nights to keep this up to date in the near future.

Things You Have To See 2

Here's alienredwolf, a fellow Redbubbler, with his disturbingly brilliant Willy Bum Bum.

I'm still here...

Apoplogies for the lack of updates recently.  In preparation for baby no. 2 I've been demolishing sheds and tearing down trees with my bare hands.

It hasn't gone quiet on the T-shirt front either.  Whilst I continue to scribble idea after idea down on any available bit of paper I find I'm finding I'm lacking inspiration in front of the laptop.

To compensate though I have exciting news on new products that are now available.  I'll be back with more details later but they involve greeting cards and postcards, hoodies, kids tees and baby gear.  Probably the most exciting though are the new stickers!!

The Marmite of all jokes

You'll either love this or hate it.

A bloke walks into the Casino bar. He is immacculately dressed and the epitome of style, but the barman can't help noticing that he has a giant orange in place of a head.

Brunettes stare at him rather curiously but the blondes stare at him with an affection that is far more than the merely curious.

He goes up to the bar and orders a drink. The barman duly obliges and the bloke flips a gold krugerrand at him saying in an honestly casual manner "Keep the change my friend."

"Excuse me sir .." says the barman "but this is a krugerrand .. are you sure you want me to keep the change?"

"Aye .. nae bother mate." and then leans forward and whispers "I don't like broadcasting it, but I've got literally millions of them. Keep it quiet though .. I don't like the attention"

Gratefull the barman thanks him and now only wishing to help the bloke in any way he can he leans forward and whispers "I don't know if Sir is aware of this, but you do realise you've got a giant orange instead of a head?"

"Aye .. ah know," says the bloke, "Ah've had it for years."

"Would it be rude to ask how you came to have it, Sir?" whispers the barman.

"Naw, not at all. You see, one day I was clearing out my attic when I found an old brass lamp. I gave it a rub and a beautiful genie appeared and granted me three wishes. So ah immediately wished for a million krugerrands, and "BANG!!!" ma attic was filed with stacks and stacks of boaxes aw full o' gold coins.

"Then I wished to be atractive to all blondes. The genie waved her hand and, even if ah dae say so ma'sel, blondes canny keep their hot, dirty little mitts aff ma boady"

"I see sir .." said the barman, fully enthralled by the story so far "and what happened then?"

"Well then - and I dae still feel like a bit of a arsehole aboot this - I wished fur a giant orange for a heid."

Tears of Aquanna

Star Wars meets Bluenote Jazz, Tears of Aquanna is the debut album from Figrin D'an and the Modal Notes.  At least it is in my mind.  The title is taken from Wookipedia, it's amazing the back stories attributed to Star Wars characters.

When I say amazing I mean tragic...I think.  I spent hours on the site today : )

Commrade Monkski

Here's my entry to a Soviet Space Race T-Shirt competition over on Redbubble.  My inspiration is Zhakonya, one of two monkeys to set the simian space endurance record.  I'm pretty sure they were Spider Monkeys but I've used artistic licence to creat my propoganda style T-Shirt.

It's also available as a print, card, postcard and canvas and you can visit the competition here on Redbubble.

X-Wing sales picking up

It's Luke's control panel from his X-Wing and I sold my third one this morning.  There are a good few Star Wars shirts out there so I'll get round to finding my 10 favorites and share them on here.

Fingers crossed the guys at Threadless push this into the running.

Boards of Helvetica

Inspired by Boards of Canada and the mother of all fonts.  Maybe even the Trainspotting Choose Life poster.

Donald Butler

Just a last heads up from me tonight.  Check out the photography on offer from Donald Butler.  Now, I have to confess to a little self interest here, Donald is my cousin.  However, I am really impressed by his eye for a photo that to me packs a real emotional impact.  This far exceeds the obvious nepotism that I can't deny also exists.

Anyway, the pimping is over, here's the link: www.redbubble.com/people/donaldbutler

and here's some examples:

Falkirk Football Club

Here's the first of my Falkirk shirts on the blog.  FFC shirts are at the heart of Thundermonkey T-shirts.  They aren't as frequent as they were in the beginning as I'm growing in confidence when attempting other things.  However, they still make up around half of my sales and I still to this day eagerly and fearfully await the response given by the fiercely opinionated Falkirk fans.

This one is a little foray into the world of Typography.  The one used is called Alien Encounters I think.  You can buy one Here

The Axe Factor

The Axefactor

Outside the Cathedral

By a talented bloke called Blake B.  There are other examples of his stuff on the link below.

You'll need to act fast though, it's only up for 24 hours.

Alas Poor Thundermonkey...

...I knew him well.

Good morning.  Here's my latest shirt. It's inspired by some headless Vikings found at an Olympic building site.

Things You Have To See

A bit of light relief after my shameless plugging.  A re-imagining/sequel of a childhood favourite and a crazy little Tamil dude body popping.

Tron: Legacy - the first trailer

This never gets old

One day's worth of voting to go on Teetonic

Teetonic is Scotland's very own version of the monolith of Tee voting sites that is Threadless.  It's still in it's infancy and as such it seems they are selecting mostly everything that is submitted for voting (hence my having two entries up for judgement).  Feel free to have a look around the site (obviously by looking at my first effort below), there are some gems to be had but as with all these types of sites, if you want to buy a shirt you have to vote for it and hope it wins.

At the moment, my debut entry (Flexiface - those cheap rubber finger puppet faces from yester year) has one day to go before I find out if it's been popular enough to be selected for print.  It has a current rating of 'Could Do Better' which sounds bad but winning shirts have been rated similarly in the past (it's harder to give fairer scores if you have an entry in the running....)

Here's the important link folks ----> Flexiface at Teetonic

Mario on acid

This nightmarish re-imagining of SuperMario can be found over on TopatCo.com - Here's the - link!

Start as I mean to go on...

Hola!  First entry on my first blog (which will amuse some folk greatly...).  Hopefully I'll keep you entertained with my T-shirts and other stuff.  I'll fire up the best shirts, illustrations and designers as and when I discover them as well.

First up is a guy who has provided me with a fair bit of encouragement over the last year or so, Matt Simner.
